About Me
Hi,
My name is Maya Elaine McClain. Most people know me as Mini Maya. I may be tiny, but I am mighty.
I was born on May 9th, 1999 which makes me a Taurus, making me stubborn or persistent depending on who you ask. If me dropping my zodiac sign didn't clue you in, I love all things astrology.
I was born in Atlanta and raised in a suburb 20 minutes north of the city. I am the proud daughter of Rebecca and Jermaine McClain. They are my best friends and biggest supporters.

About: About
If you ask my mom, she will tell you that I've been a performer since I could walk and talk. I was constantly dancing, prancing, and twirling around grocery aisles, classrooms, and family get-togethers for anyone to watch. As a kid, my interests bounced from soccer to sewing, to tae kwon do, and ultimately dance. My parents always knew that I had a creative spirit that needed to be nurtured and cultivated.
At age 6, I took my first tap class and fell in love with dancing. From there I was a full-on competition dance studio kid. That's where the spark of performing and being on stage ignited into the fire that drives me today.
I’m sure “Mini” is not how you expect a 23-year-old woman to introduce herself, but Mini Maya has stuck with me since the inception of social media. Growing up, I was always the smallest person in my clique. Now I'm a whopping 5’2! While I may have been short in stature, my big personality helped me shine centerstage at my dance recitals...not that the spotlight wasn’t attracted to me anyway ;)
About: Text

I spent over 10 years training at the Renaissance International School of Performing Arts (RISPA). What started as a few days after school turned into a 40 hour week passion. By the time I was in high school, I was in seven companies and a student-teacher. The studio became my second home. There I was able to grow and cultivate my love for performing. Each year I would challenge and push myself to try new things, learn new dance styles, and make new friends. Some of my best memories came from that studio.
After graduating from Cambridge High School in 2017, I went on to attend Emerson College in Boston. There I earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre in Performance and a double minor in Dance and Public Relations.
My time in Boston had a profound impact on shaping me as an actor and performer. While at Emerson, I was able to study my craft with some of the most creative people on the planet. I immersed myself in the local theatre and dance community and was featured in several performances.
In addition to my studies, I was a member of the Emerson Urban Dance Theatre (EUDT) and Zeta Phi Eta, a National Professional co-ed Fraternity. I maintained leadership positions for both organizations while also consistently landing on the Dean's list. OK...yes, I am very persistent and a bit of an overachiever.
